Today Jackson received an amazing award. He was given top honors for the entire Kindergarten (there are 6 or 7 Kindy classes) at his school for this 6 week period. We are so proud of him! You can see a clip of the assembly here-
You’ve come a long way baby February 21, 2008
Each year at Trevor’s birthday, there is a time of reflection. Thinking about the circumstances surrounding his birth always brings many emotions. It was a time of joy at the arrival of our new baby, but also grief and anxiety at the road we knew was ahead for him and for us. What a remarkable transformation in four short years. I think we can finally look back and just smile… we made it through and Trevor has done just fine. Sometimes during the hard times in life you don’t feel like you will ever make it through. But you do, and then years later you can look back and smile.
Easter Dress Matchy-Matchy February 15, 2008
I made these dresses for Sylvie and Lily. The second one should have been easier than the first. However in my sleep deprived state the other evening I totally botched the second one. It’s now about an inch shorter than the first. Hopefully Sylvie doesn’t get too much taller before it’s warm enough to wear it here.
Yes, that’s toothpaste… and notice the lovely flowers I got for Valentine’s Day
Happy Valentine’s Day February 14, 2008
Here’s a picture of Sylvie in her Valentines Day dress. Unfortunately she’s not wearing it today. She’s still in her jammies as I have a house full of sick kids. Happy Heart Day to all!

Don’t try to sew a complicated dress when you haven’t had a wink of sleep in over 24 (or is it more like 36) hours. It just doesn’t work out and when you rip out a seam over and over, eventually the dress becomes smaller than it was supposed to be. Oh well, I’ll just have to buy more fabric….. Is it almost bedtime?
